Sulphur Mountain Highline Trek

Join the Sulphur Mountain Highline Trek for a scenic ridge hike above Banff. This guided adventure takes you from treeline into classic alpine terrain, traversing subalpine forests, limestone slabs, and rugged scree slopes. Enjoy sweeping views of the Sundance Range, Lake Louise peaks, and the distant Assiniboine massif. Led by an ACMG-certified guide, this hike balances challenge, safety, and alpine education.

The Program

This hike is suitable for beginner to intermediate hikers and is family friendly (Ages 12+). Sections of scrambling may be required. Your guide will tailor the experience based on group skill, fitness, and trail conditions to ensure a safe and enjoyable outing.

Itinerary

• 7:45 AM – Meet your guide at the base of the Banff Gondola
• 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM* – Hike the Sulphur Mountain Highline

*End time depends on the pace of the group and trail conditions. The guide will decide the exact route and timing on the day based on group skill and weather.

If you have an exceptional experience, tips for guides are always appreciated. A 10–15% gratuity is customary and can be given in cash or arranged through the AAA office.
