Larch Valley Hike

The Larch Valley hike is one of the most iconic alpine hikes in Banff National Park, offering incredible mountain scenery and a true Rocky Mountain experience. Beginning near Moraine Lake, the trail climbs steadily through subalpine forest into the heart of Larch Valley, surrounded by towering peaks and glaciated terrain in the Valley of the Ten Peaks.

This guided Larch Valley hike continues up to Sentinel Pass at 2,600 metres, where hikers are rewarded with panoramic views over Larch Valley, Paradise Valley, and the surrounding alpine landscape. The 5–6 hour hike is a moderate to challenging day adventure, ideal for active hikers looking to explore Banff beyond the lakes.

Itinerary

• Meet your guide at your hotel for transportation to Moraine Lake
• Hike from Larch Valley to Sentinel Pass, enjoying alpine scenery and forested trails
• Return via the same route to Moraine Lake for transportation back to your hotel
