DESCRIPTION:
Join our Beginner Backcountry Splitboard Program, a two-day guided experience designed for strong intermediate snowboarders (comfortable on blue runs) looking to step into the world of splitboarding and backcountry travel. Led by ACMG-certified guides, this program focuses on building a solid foundation in splitboarding techniques while exploring classic terrain around Lake Louise, Kananaskis Country, and Highway 93 North & South.

Over two full days, you’ll develop essential skills including efficient splitboard touring, smooth transitions, uphill travel techniques, group travel strategies, and confident riding in variable snow conditions. This course is ideal for riders new to splitboarding who want to gain the knowledge and confidence to travel safely and efficiently in the backcountry.

Jeff has spent decades guiding and riding in complex mountain terrain across Canada. As the owner and lead guide of Alpine Air Adventures, Jeff combines deep experience in splitboarding, ski touring, and avalanche terrain management with a passion for teaching and mentoring riders entering the backcountry.

Each day builds progressively, reinforcing core splitboarding skills while adapting to terrain, snowpack, and conditions.

If you had an exceptional experience, tips for guides are always appreciated. A 10–15% gratuity is customary and can be given in cash or arranged through the AAA office.
