Heli-in Ski Camp

Remote Ski Touring & Adventure in the Canadian Rockies

Program Overview

Every year, AAA guides organize an exploratory heli-in ski camp, giving participants access to seemingly endless backcountry locations in Western Canada. Mid to late April is ideal, with long days, deep snowpack, good avalanche conditions, and preserved powder in the high mountains. This adventure is perfect for intermediate to strong backcountry skiers seeking remote terrain with the comforts of helicopter access.

The Schedule

Day-to-day life on these camps starts early to take advantage of optimal travel conditions. Mornings are spent skiing and exploring glaciated terrain and summits, while afternoons are for relaxing at camp, enjoying the sun, sharing stories, and unwinding after the day’s adventure.

The Camp

The ski week is tent-based, featuring a large dome tent for cooking, drying gear, and relaxing. Sleeping quarters are shared (2 per tent) within larger 4-person tents. Participants are flown in and out by helicopter. Skiing is done as day trips from base camp with light packs. Base camp is at approximately 2000 m with panoramic mountain views. Each year, a new remote location is selected to provide a true backcountry ski adventure.

Course Package

A detailed program package will be emailed once your payment is received.
