Rock Masters: Advanced

Rock Masters is a four-day advanced course for experienced single-pitch climbers ready to progress to multi-pitch routes and more complex alpine terrain. Led by ACMG-certified guides, this program develops the skills, confidence, and systems knowledge needed to safely lead longer climbs and manage committing objectives.

The Course

This immersive program is ideal for climbers with a solid foundation in outdoor climbing and belay systems. Over four days, participants refine multi-pitch techniques, practice rope transitions, anchor management, lead climbing, and gain hands-on experience on classic routes. Guidance is tailored to your skill level, with a maximum 2:1 guest-to-guide ratio for optimal instruction and safety.

Itinerary

Day 1:

• 7:45 AM – Meet your guide at the AAA office in Banff
  Skills: Multi-pitch fundamentals, rope transitions, rock movement technique

Day 2:

• Skills: Multi-pitch skills, lead climbing, safety techniques

Days 3 & 4:

• Classic multi-pitch routes with hands-on application of learned skills (max 2:1 guest-to-guide ratio)

If you have an exceptional experience, tips for guides are always appreciated. A 10–15% gratuity is customary and can be given in cash or arranged through the AAA office.
