Banff Via Ferrata

Via Ferrata

DESCRIPTION:

Via Ferrata

Searching Availability...

Experience one of the most exciting vertical adventures in the
Canadian Rockies with Alpine Air Adventures, our Via Ferrata
experience in the Bow Valley. Set in a dramatic limestone Canyon near
Canmore, this guided Via Ferrata delivers amazing views, awesome
adventure, and an unforgettable sense of achievement - all without
requiring any prior climbing experience.

This route follows a natural canyon line where water and time have
sculpted the rock into smooth faces, ledges, and striking formations.
As you climb higher, the canyon opens to sweeping views of the
surrounding alpine landscape, making the experience as visually
rewarding as it is physically engaging.

Inspired by classic European routes, our Banff via ferrata uses a
fixed safety system of steel cables, ladders, and metal rungs,
allowing you to move confidently across steep rock faces while
remaining securely attached at all times. It’s an ideal introduction
to vertical terrain and a exciting alternative to traditional hiking
or rock climbing.

Led by ACMG-certified guides, this Bow Valley Via Ferrata combines
adventure, skill-building movement, and expert instruction in a safe
and supportive environment. Whether you’re stepping onto rock for the
first time or searching for a new way to experience the mountains,
this is one of the most unique guided adventures in the Canadian
Rockies.

What to Expect

• 3-hour guided experience from the carpark base to the top and back

• Full safety briefing and equipment orientation before starting
• Continuous connection to the fixed cable system throughout the route
• Vertical and traversing sections using ladders, rungs, and natural
rock features
• Step-by-step guidance and support from your guide
• Elevated canyon views and a strong sense of accomplishment at the summit
