The Details:

By mid February into March AAA offers long weekends that will be spent Ski Touring & Splitboarding some of the Rockies' greatest peaks. With a deeper winter snowpack, this is an excellent time of year to explore the areas around Lake Louise, Field B.C and Highway 93 North.

In previous years the groups have made ascents of Mt Victoria N glacier, Cathedral Peak, Mt Field, Cirque Peak, Crowfoot Mountain and Mt Hector along with countless other classic tours. With long warm spring days and a deep, well-settled snowpack our guides are ready to take you out for great weekend of peak bagging and skiing !

This trip is great for intermediate to advanced backcountry skiers who love skiing and adventure.

Day 1: Meet at the Lake Louise Alpine center, meet and greet & companion rescue review. The objective of this day is to pick a location that will be suitable for the group which will have good access to moderate terrain. The guides will give pointers and tricks for skinning and riding deeper powder. Some options might be Sherbrooke lake, West Nile/Bowview or Victoria glacier zone.

Day 2: Explore Field, Emerald Lake or the Lake Louise zone, all have amazing terrain selection.

Day 3: Check out one of the other amazing zones, if the weather cooperates the goal will be to get up high into the alpine, which may include a glacier tour.

If you have any questions about this program contact the AAA office at [email protected].

A detailed course package will be emailed 3 days prior to course commencement.
