The Wapta Blitz is a 3 day get er done style Wapta Traverse, for the get er done riders out there.

Welcome to the Canadian Rockies easiest access glacier hut to hut ski traverse. The Wapta icefields offer a fantastic and civilized multi-day ski traverse, which weaves its way across many remote glaciers and peaks. The Wapta is a must do for any ski adventurer and offers many opportunities to summit peaks and ski from higher elevations for life changing ski descents and experiences. High, glaciated and remote Canadian wilderness!

The Wapta Blitz is from Bow Lake to the Great Divide Lodge over 3 days and 2 nights.

Day 1: Meet at the Lake Louise alpine center to meet and greet, review gear and pack group gear. Then head for the trail head for mid morning. The first night will be spent at the Balfour hut which is tucked underneath the monarch of the ice fields Mt Balfour, traveling up to Bow hut for lunch and onwards.

Day 2: The second day you will climb up and over the Balfour high col via the Balfour glacier. On route to the Scott Duncan hut along the way, weather permitting, an attempt on Balfour or a side ski run will be made.

Day 3: will be spent skiing back to the road. This style of trip is well suited for intermediate-strong back country skiers and riders who have some touring experience.

Upon booking you will receive the logistics package with details for preparing. A detailed final logistics email will be emailed 3 days prior to program start date.

If you have an exceptional experience and would like to leave a tip for your guide, 10-15% is a customary amount. You can pay with cash or contact the AAA office directly to arrange.
