Not sure which program is best for you? Take a look at our Course Progression Map.

The Details:

The Ski & Splitboard beginner tour days are designed to introduce people to the backcountry in the areas surrounding Lake Louise, Kananaskis Country, Highway 93 North & South. If you're new to ski touring & splitboarding or have some experience already this is a great program to get you comfortable in some new areas with a certified guide.

Our guides will give instruction on skinning uphill, powder skiing and splitboarding that will aim to help you achieve your goals while keeping things safe and fun. The program is a perfect progression to our 3 day Rogers Pass Weekend course, and after this one of our Spring Ski Expeditions!

You must be a strong intermediate (BLUE) skier/snowboarder at the ski hills or have some previous touring experience.

This program is a great addition to an AST 1 to cover all the foundations of backcountry ski touring and splitboarding. You will receive a 10% discount if signing up for both the AST 1 & Ski Touring Beginner programs in the same season.

A detailed course package will be emailed 3 days prior to course commencement.

If you have an exceptional experience and would like to leave a tip for your guide, 10-15% is a customary amount. You can pay with cash or contact the AAA office directly to arrange.

  • Please read and review our waiver prior to booking.
  • Cancellation Insurance is available through the Simpson Group
  • All of our guides have undergone training and evaluation by the ACMG, meeting the established criteria of a globally acknowledged professional organization.
