The Details:

Welcome to the Canadian Rockies easiest access glacier hut to hut ski traverse. The Wapta icefields offer a fantastic and civilized multi-day ski traverse, which weaves its way across many remote glaciers and peaks. The Wapta is a must do for any ski adventurer and offers many opportunities to summit peaks and ski from higher elevations for life changing ski descents and experiences. High, glaciated and remote Canadian wilderness!

The Classic Wapta from Bow Lake to the Great Divide Lodge over 4 days and 3 nights.

Day 1: Meet at the Lake Louise alpine center to meet and greet, review gear and pack group gear. Then head for the trail head for mid morning. The first night will be spent at the Bow Hut in the beautiful Bow Glacier Cirque with many peaks to climb and ski.

Day 2: A day of exploration, traversing to the Balfour Hut via the Bow & Vulture Glaciers and climbing a peak or two along the way.

Day 3: The glacier crux of the traverse is tackled, up and over the Balfour High Col. If weather cooperates an attempt on Mt Balfour (3285m) will be made then on to the Scott Duncan Hut for our final night out.

Day 4: One of two exit options will be skied, the scenic Bath Glacier or the Sherbrooke Lake exit. Both offer some fun skiing on route to the Trans Canada and Great Divide Lodge.

Upon booking you will receive the logistics package with details for preparing. A detailed final logistics email will be emailed 3 days prior to program start date.

Private group trips are available, please inquire if interested.
