The Course:
These long weekend programs are designed to take your skills and climbing experience to the next level through continued learning. This is a great progression if you attended the Ice Review Plus course or have a few days of Ice climbing experience under your belt. It's also a great way to meet like minded people and be taught the highest standards in safety, efficiency at an advanced level by ACMG/IFMGA Mountain Guides.
The Days:
The first two days are focused on advanced climbing movement and progressing your climbing grade and confidence. We will review building ice screw anchors and placing screws while leading routes. On the third day we will climb one of the many classic multi pitch routes in the Bow Valley. This is a Bow Valley, Kananaskis and Ghost River based course. This will introduce and review multi-pitch rappelling which is a skill we all need for the big mountains.
If you attended the Ice Experience program you will receive 10% off of the Progression course.
A detailed course package will be emailed 3 days prior to course commencement.
If you have an exceptional experience and would like to leave a tip for your guide, 10-15% is a customary amount. You can pay with cash or contact the AAA office directly to arrange.
