Hiking week in the Canadian Rockies’ with Lake O'Hara

The Course:

We invite you to join us on a fantastic 6-day hiking trip and explore the majestic Canadian Rockies, around Banff.

Our time will be spent hiking along some of The Rockies beautiful scenery, through mountains, lakes and glaciers. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy nature and learn about the local flora and fauna at the same time. During this week, we will take you on some of the “must-do” Banff hikes.

A detailed course package will be emailed 3 days prior to course commencement.

The Schedule:

Day 1: Banff National Park

Lake O'Hara Day Hike

Day 2: Cory Pass to Edith Pass Hiking Traverse

Cory Pass to Edith Pass hiking traverse. 15km and 900 m elevation gain and loss. As we ascend up and over Cory pass we will enjoy the amazing valley of the Gargoyles on the backside. Then, we will pass under the flanks of Mt Louis. Back to Banff for food and refreshments.

Day 3: Plain of Six Glaciers-Victoria Glacier-Lake Louise Alpine Center

Plain of Six Glaciers at Lake Louise. We will have the opportunity to hike right up to the Victoria glacier, an amazing place surrounded by rock walls and glaciers descending from the high peaks. Spending the night at the Lake Louise Alpine Center.

Day 4: Helen Lake-Rampart Creek Hostel

We will leave Lake Louise and head up the Icefields Parkway towards Jasper National Park, hiking up to Helen Lake on the Dolomite Pass circuit. That evening we will arrive at the Rampart Creek Hostel and experience the relaxed living of life in the Rockies.

Day 5: Jasper National Park - Mt. Wilcox

We will drive a short distance to the North, entering Jasper National Park. We will enjoy a must-do hike into Wilcox meadows Mt Wilcox ascent, with magnificent views of the world-renowned Columbia icefields. We will spend the evening back at the Rampart Creek Hostel.

Day 6: Short Hikes-Return to Calgary
